Jen is a teacher, mom and advocate who helps people build a family culture around veganism. She revolutionized her home three years ago; going from a typical meat-eating family to one with a vision; conscious living through compassion and acts of service. In this episode, Jen brings on her 8 year old son Anderson, to give his personal reasons for going vegan, along with some of the struggles he's had with friends and family.

When transitioning her family Jen focused on educating herself as much as possible on the subject, watching documentaries, reading books such as Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer and How Not to Die by Dr. Michael Greger. Once her husband was on board, she brought in resources to help her kids transition such as children's picture books, trips to farm sanctuaries and watching vlogs of other vegan families on Youtube. Youtube was a great resource, it allowed her kids to watch other kids live a vegan lifestyle, which was invaluable. Seeing that they are not alone but rather a part of a much larger community and movement gave her family the momentum to push ahead and create a permanent lifestyle change. Her biggest fear going into this lifestyle was that it would be hard for her kids in social situations, that they would feel left out or different. Nothing could have been further from the truth, as this lifestyle has expanded and enriched their lives in more ways they could have ever imagined.

Jen works for an organization called Coaching for Cause, where she helps individuals and families transition to a vegan lifestyle. Jen's goals are to help you confidently make a lasting lifestyle change. Jen will guide you through food swaps, veganizing your favorite family meals as well as making sure that your kids are meeting all their nutritional needs.
